Sarah Weller is joining Tonbridge Parent Support Group on the 27th March. Sarah is an experienced parenting coach.
“This talk is specifically aimed at Parents of children who are waiting for a diagnosis or who have got a diagnosis of ADHD, ADD, and ODD. You may be struggling with defiant, argumentative or un-cooperative behaviours, and think that maybe your child might be displaying symptoms of one of these conditions.
In the talk, I will explain why children with these conditions find co-operation, focus and motivation difficult, alongside what is going on in their brains.
We will look at the typical triggers for non-co-operation and what specific parenting strategies work and which ones don't.
I will talk about 4 key strategies that work: Words to increase co-operation, words to build connection, words to build competancy to boost self esteem and words that specifically appeal to different learning styles.”
Doors open at 9am for resfreshments. Children are welcome.
